June Sketchbook

I’ve done so much painting outdoors lately, and a lot of it with friends. Here’s what I’ve been up to!

• Shanelle Petrie, of Tide & Twig, and I painted at Airlie Gardens, capturing Bradley Creek and the Live Oaks. We also caught a sunrise at Wrightsville Beach!

• I went home for a weekend and painted the Uwharrie Mountains from my parents’ porch.

• Fellow artist Galina Stockstill visited in June, and we enjoyed plein air painting at Shell Island.

• And last, but not least, Kelsey Howard and I went to Maggie’s Flowers grand opening, and of course I had to paint my bouquet!

I’ve filled one of the notebooks that I started in January, and I’ve nearly finished another! The Arches Watercolor Travel Journal has been my favorite!
