Bodie Lighthouse Commission
My latest commission is inspired by sunsets over the marsh and Bodie Lighthouse. This 30×40 in. painting for Mary Tackett is a cheerful scene for the whole family to enjoy!

Q: Why did you decide to commission a painting?
A: We have visited the Bodie Lighthouse in the Outer Banks every summer since our children were babies, and we wanted a painting to reflect the memories we made there as a family. We also love Sarah's artwork, particularly her marshes and sunsets, so it seemed like a beautiful match!
Q: What was your favorite part of the commission process?
A: We really enjoyed the initial meeting with Sarah. She was so thoughtful and kind, and listened carefully to our vision, meticulously recording all of our requests while also adding her artistic flourishes that make the paintings she create uniquely hers! We also really loved watching the time lapse video of the painting process. It was so much fun to watch the painting take shape over time!
Q: Do you have any advice for someone considering booking a commission?
A: Just do it! It was such a fun and unique experience, and now we have a beautiful family heirloom to treasure forever. We hung the painting in our foyer, so it is the first thing guests see when they visit — it is stunning.
