Grand Cayman Commission

It was SO easy, from start to finish. This is the first time I had a custom piece done and couldn’t have been happier with the process and outcome.
— Ariail Barker

Ariail Barker commissioned a painting of her family’s favorite vacation spot as a gift for her husband. We decided on a square composition highlighting Grand Cayman’s clear waters and used the palm trees as a way of framing the scene. I’m so thrilled with how it turned out that now I’m wondering why I haven’t painted palm trees sooner!

Q: Why did you decide to commission a painting?

A: For my husband's 40th birthday I wanted to get him something unexpected and sentimental.

Q: What was your favorite part of the commission process?

A: Being able to add little touches to the painting that are specific to our family. For example, in this painting we added two buckets and two shovels to symbolize our two sons.

Q: Do you have any advice for someone considering booking a commission?

A: If you're thinking about doing it, do it! Getting the size, composition, and customization that you want is much easier than you would think!
