Hydrangeas: My Latest Painting Obsession
I’ve admired these gorgeous blooms at my in-law’s house all summer. They cascade around the front porch, reminding me of my grandma’s backyard. So I finally snipped a few for our kitchen table, and then it wasn’t long before they moved to the studio table!
I started out with oil pastel sketches, then moved to acrylics on a pretty gray-toned, handmade paper. My favorite part is the leaves; they make such interesting shapes and patterns!
I picture these paintings floated over a mat, and hanging in pairs. They feel classically southern, but with a modern touch!
