Positano Commission
I met Paige Giguere and her interior design pal Caroline Stevenson at Design Matters in Chapel Hill, NC, back in 2024. We hit it off immediately, so when Caroline was helping Paige with her home renovation, I was more than happy to create a special painting as a focal point for the living room!
Paige envisioned a scene of Positano, Italy, where she and her husband honeymooned, as a beautiful reminder of their time there. So together, we planned out all the details, and then I got to work bringing the scene to life!
Here’s my interview with Paige about the commission process:
Q: Why did you decide to commission a painting?
A: I wanted something personal, not something that is widely recognizable or reproducible and would be seen in the house down the street.
Q: What was your favorite part of the commission process?
A: Dreaming it up and watching the process of it coming to life, being able to add in small preferences (like the hidden aperol spritz which brings me so much joy).
Q: Do you have any advice for someone considering booking a commission?
A: Don't be afraid to make special requests! That's kind of the whole point ;)
