Alisa Cristine Interiors

If you’ve ever wondered what the life of an interior designer looks, then you’re in for a treat. I’m so thrilled to introduce you to Alisa Cristine Interiors, who is kicking us off with the first Q&A of 2022!

Q — Tell us a bit about yourself and your business!

A — I am a Dallas-based interior designer creating beautiful and functional homes focused on the way your family lives to elevate your everyday. My focus is on my clients first and foremost and I work to provide a high level of excellence through a tried and true design process. I work with clients locally and nationwide through Consultations, Full Service and Virtual Design.

Q — How would you describe your style?

A — I would describe my style as a foundation of traditional elements mixed with color, pattern and intention. Every item I source for projects serves a purpose, never too cluttered or overdone. Function is always first, then I bring the beauty to each design!

Q — When did you know you wanted to be an interior designer?

A — From a young age I was constantly sketching homes and interiors and always wanted to redo my bedroom or rearrange the furniture in my home. I inherited my creativity from my Mom so it was always in me to pursue a career in a creative field — interior design was the natural choice.

Q — What does a typical day look like for you?

A — Monday’s are typically an office day and on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday I schedule all of my client appointments and work on client projects — space planning, floor plans, sourcing, etc. On Friday I wrap up the week by sending emails to each client to update them on their projects and tie up any loose ends with vendors and trades.

Q — Tell us about a favorite project you've worked on lately!

A — I recently completed a project where we did a fun mix of color and patterns and went bold with blue sofas! We also incorporated a piece of original art the client had which makes the home even more special and I love that they had invested in the art and the artist.

Q — What advice would you give someone looking to add art to their home?

A — Invest in art! Original art makes your home unique to you, your aesthetic and each piece tells a story. There’s a story behind the artist who created it, a story of where you were when you purchased it and a story of how the art makes you feel every day when you see it. I strongly believe in supporting local artists and small businesses.
