A Pleasant Wedding

I first met Kensley Pleasant at a Sola Coffee Cafe pop-up market in 2019, where I had an art booth and she had a flower bar. Kensley runs Pleasant Farms Flowers, a local, family-run flower business with the most gorgeous blooms!

Kensley reached out earlier this summer about commissioning a painting of the Ashley River in Charleston, SC, where she and her husband were married — talk about a stunning wedding location!

Together, we planned out all of the details for her commission, from the colors to the size and finish. Read my Q&A with Kensley below!

Q: What was your favorite part of the commission process?

A: Definitely getting to see the finished painting. It’s so exciting to see a vision come to life. Especially when it’s even prettier than you imagined!

Q: Do you have any advice for someone considering booking a commission?

A: Have in mind where you are going to put the painting and use painters tape to mark it on the wall so you can visualize what size works best for your space.

Q: Is there anything else you'd like to add?

A: I highly recommend working with Sarah Jane! You won’t be disappointed if you decide to invest in a piece of original art. It will be a conversation piece that you will have for so many years to come!
