Framing Inspiration

The right frame enhances an original painting or fine art print by adding another layer of character.

Framing allows you to incorporate your personal aesthetic and tap into the interior design style of your space. Then your artwork will look like it was made for your space and can even become a focal point to tie a whole room together!

My go-to framing tips:

  1. Go vintage! Grab a friend and go on a little scavenger hunt to your local antique store. Try to find something unique or a little quirky for extra character.

  2. Pack a punch with small art in a large, matted frame. I love this clean and modern look, especially when you’re framing multiple pieces to hang together!

  3. Show off those edges! If you have artwork with hand-torn or deckle edges, don’t hide it behind a mat. Float it over a mat to make those pretty edges stand out.

In addition to finding frames at antique stores, it’s always great to support your local framer! (And when I’m on a budget my go-to places are: World Market, Michael’s and Pottery Barn.)
