"Sing Praises"

I had the pleasure of delivering a very special painting to Dee Wilson, a dear collector at Bald Head Island, NC. It’s always such an honor to meet you all in-person, to hear your stories and the connections you make with particular paintings; and this delivery was no exception!

Dee was so sweet and shared the following story:

“Ecclesiastes 3:1–8

There is indeed a time for EVERY thing…

Sarah Jane Tart had no idea when she began to paint this work of heart, that she was painting it for me. She tells of how she listened to Lauren Daigle’s song Look Up Child while she painted this and how the message revealed itself on her canvas. She titled the work ‘Sing Praises.’

My mother gave me gift cards. Never gifts, simply gift cards. For the past 3 years I kept every single one of them. I just had to hang onto them… When she passed, I wanted to buy something that would bring glory to God and joy to my family. So I started to look at art and found emerging artist Sarah Jane Tart online. When I found ‘Sing Praises’ I knew this was it.

Bruce Wilson (the love of my life and husband of 30 years) has fished this little stretch of marsh at Bald Head Island for 10 years. He loves it with a passion and myself, our children and grandchildren have all come to love it as well.

When Sarah Jane Tart offered to deliver this to me personally, I knew God had a plan. Sarah Jane has a gift. She loves the Lord in a very special way and she hears Him well. Her obedience was my gift. We will enjoy this painting all the days of our lives as we look forward with excitement to what God does next. God speed, beautiful one. Keep painting and keep listening…”

Y’all, this is why I do what I do! It’s about sharing the love and beauty of God’s creation.

Every painting that comes out of my studio is made for someone, even when I don’t know who yet. “Sing Praises” was made for Dee.

Thank you Dee, for sharing your story, and for your kindness. Your love and support means more than you know!
